01:33 PM EDT, 05/15/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed Wednesday afternoon, with the Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) increasing 0.1% and the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) fractionally lower.

In corporate news, Netflix ( NFLX ) and the National Football League said Wednesday that Netflix ( NFLX ) will stream two NFL games globally on Christmas Day. The streaming giant will also stream at least one NFL game on Christmas Day in 2025 and 2026 as part of a three-season deal. Netflix ( NFLX ) shares were down 0.5%.
