Update: Lionsgate Studios to Cut 5% of Staff in Latest Round of Layoffs, CEO Says
Sep 19, 2025 12:16 AM

01:30 PM EDT, 09/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- (Updates with additional details in the last paragraph.)

Lionsgate Studios ( LION ) is eliminating an additional 5% of its companywide workforce, according to a Thursday internal memo from Chief Executive Jon Feltheimer.

The move follows a previous 8% reduction, Feltheimer said in the memo, adding that the layoffs are part of a strategy to "adapt" the company to an industry facing "unprecedented change and disruption."

The company is also proceeding with monetizing non-core assets, lowering costs and reallocating resources to "growth areas of the business," Feltheimer said.

While Lionsgate may make occasional adjustments to individual departments from time to time, the 5% headcount reduction will "substantially complete" its year-long effort to reposition the company for growth, the memo said.
