Will grow via adjacencies like McCafe; plan to enter tier-II & III cities: Westlife Development
Jan 5, 2021 3:48 AM

Going ahead, Westlife Development plans to enter tier II and tier III cities of the country, said its Vice Chairman, Amit Jatia. But that would not change our strategy for tier I cities, he added.

Westlife Development Limited is an Indian fast food restaurant holding company. Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Hardcastle Restaurants Private Limited, has the master franchise for McDonald’s in western and Southern India.

Speaking in an interview to CNBC-TV18, Jatia said, “We will grow via adjacencies like McCafe and other similar kinds because for us doing adjacencies and doing things that work out of the same investment is where our focus is. So, we would rather pursue these avenues and opportunities than to move away from what we think is not our core.”

On the store expansion front, he said, “We opened four stores in the last few months, and we have some stores under construction as well. We are confident that will be back to opening 25-30 restaurants per year from next year.”
