Don't see too much downside for Nifty from current levels, says Sindhu Sameer
May 24, 2018 5:02 AM

Sindhu Sameer, Emkay Global Financial Services, discusses with Prashant Nair and Ekta Batra his analysis on the fundamental side of the market as well as specific stocks and sectors.

On the Nifty, Sameer said, “It is tough to talk about the range of Nifty. But yes, the kind of macro we are having at the moment, there can be a cut in Nifty – anything between plus and minus 5%. Nifty will be range bound. At the same time, I do not envisage a serious downward movement in Nifty."

Sameer added that macro and rise of oil, which was never envisaged, has spooked certain set of investors. There is a fear that 2013 may be revisited. However, earnings have been reassuring," he added.

He believes that the market sentiment is cautious, but he does not believe that the market is headed for a crash.
