Global signal: Wall Street indices end a choppy session mildly lower

The S&P500 and the NASDAQ recovered from the day’s low to weaken into close, so those two big indices in the red. The nominal US treasury yields rise a little bit, so the 10-year and the 30-year rose 3 basis points (bps) each, the 10-year closed at 2.85 percent and the 30-year closed at 2.94 percent.

Oil prices continue to be firm, overnight they rose about 1 percent, almost $113 per barrel, so there is no great relief there.
