The Philadelphia Housing Index climbed 1.5%, and the Real Estate Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLRE) rose 0.8%.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD) increased 5.5% to $65,953, and the yield for 10-year US Treasuries rose 2.5 basis points to 4.098%.
In corporate news, Bank of America ( BAC ) integrated its fintech investment banking team into its technology practice, moving 50 bankers into its 200-member tech group, Bloomberg reported. Bank of America ( BAC ) shares were fractionally higher.
Accenture ( ACN ) shares rose 1.2% after it said Monday it has acquired Joshua Tree, a supply chain consultancy firm.
B. Riley Financial ( RILY ) shares surged 24% after the company said it has signed an agreement with funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management to create a holding company called Great American Holdings.
Upstart's (UPST) shares jumped past 17%. The company's improving credit metrics, lower interest rates and more new lending may underpin H2 adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization, Wedbush said Monday in a report. Wedbush upgraded Upstart to neutral from underperform and raised its price target to $45 from $10.
