08:58 AM EDT, 03/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Health care stocks were mixed premarket Thursday with the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) inactive and iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) recently up 0.5%.

Akebia Therapeutics ( AKBA ) shares were 10.7% higher after the company said the US Food and Drug Administration has approved its Vafseo tablets for the treatment of anemia due to chronic kidney disease in adults on dialysis for at least three months.
