The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) declined 2.1%.
In corporate news, Gilead Sciences ( GILD ) has agreed to pay $202 million to settle claims that it violated US anti-kickback laws through its HIV drug speaker programs, according to a Tuesday statement by New York Attorney General Letitia James. Gilead shares were down 2.4%.
