04:03 PM EDT, 05/07/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Most major digital assets were largely trending downwards Tuesday, with bitcoin (BTC-USD) holding steady at above $63,000.
The CoinDesk Market Index, which tracks 193 digital assets, was down 0.1% in the past 24 hours while the Nasdaq 100 was little changed while the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average both rose 0.2%, respectively.
Bitcoin (BTC-USD), the largest cryptocurrency by market value, was little changed at $63,070, according to CoinMarketCap data. Trading volume was $24.59 billion, down 12.4%.
Ethereum (ETH-USD), the second-largest digital asset, was trading 0.6% lower at $3,049.
BNB (BNB-USD), the third-largest digital asset by market value excluding stablecoins, was down 0.7% and Solana (SOL-USD), the fourth-largest, declined 1.1%.
XRP (XRP-USD) and Dogecoin (DOGE-USD) both fell 1.9%, and Toncoin (TON-USD) rose 0.4%. Cardano (ADA-USD) was trading 2.7% lower.
The US 10-year Treasury yield closed at 4.459% on Tuesday, compared to 4.487% Monday, while the five-year Treasury yield closed at 4.467%, down from 4.484% a day ago.
The total market value of the cryptocurrency industry was down 0.2% in the last 24 hours at $2.33 trillion. The total trading volumes decreased 12.9% to $62.73 billion.
