According to the latest figures by the Election Commission of India, H Salam of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) won with total votes of 24,995
The counting of votes began on Sunday to elect a new 140-member Kerala Legislative Assembly. Early trends indicate H Salam of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is leading.
Ambalapuzha is an Assembly constituency in the Alappuzha district, in the Travancore region of Kerala.
The Ambalapuzha constituency went to polls on April 6, 2021.
The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Ambalapuzha was won by G.Sudhakaran of INC.
Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by G.Sudhakaran of CPIM.
In the 2016 assembly polls, G.Sudhakaran garnered 63069 votes, securing over 47.32 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 22621 votes.
In percentage terms, the victory margin was 16.97 percent.
The constituency polled 133336 votes in the 2016 Kerala assembly polls with a voter turnout of 78.92 percent.
The Ambalapuzha constituency has a literacy level of 96.26 percent.
A total of 11 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
