Ambikapur election 2018 results: TS Baba of Congress leads Anurag Singh Deo of BJP

TS Baba of the Congress is leading Anurag Singh Deo of BJP in the Ambikapur seat in Chhattisgarh by 39,624 votes.

TS Baba received 100,439 votes, while Anurag Singh Deo secured 60,815 votes, according to Election Commission data. Gopal Prasad Gupta of Gondvana Gantantra Party was trailing at the third spot with 4,459 votes.

In 2013, TS Baba of Congress won the seat by a margin of 19,558 votes.

There are a total of 2,25,830 voters in the seat. In the 2018 Chhattisgarh elections, Ambikapur recorded a voter turnout of 78.47 percent.

The first phase of voting covered mostly assembly seats in the Bastar division and parts of Rajnandgaon.

Chhattisgarh is one of the five states where elections were held between November 12 and December 7.

These polls are seen as a bellwether of the 2019 general elections.
