Security forces in Myanmar intensify their efforts to break up protests a month after the military staged a coup.
In what is seen as a show of defiance, large crowds held marches across the country to denounce the military coup, despite security forces turning violent to suppress protesters.
The UN Human Rights Office said on Sunday (February 28) that there is "credible information" of at least 18 deaths across Myanmar during the crackdown on protesters.

Police fired tear gas and water cannons and there were reports of gunfire on Sunday in Myanmar's largest city, where another anti-coup protest was underway with scores of students and other demonstrators hauled away in police trucks.
As per unofficial sources, the toll could be close to 30 as numerous protesters were reported missing.
Authorities failed to quell the movement that emerged against the coup and the detention of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi, despite promising fresh elections and stern warnings against dissent.
