ED attaches Congress MP Karti Chidamabaram's properties worth Rs 11.04 crore

Amit Shah to hold road show, organisational meetings in Karnataka

In his first political programmes in Karnataka after nomination filing ends on Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah will hold road shows in Davanagere and Devanahalli on April 21 and 22 and attend several organisational meetings in Bengaluru as the BJP's campaign to retain power in the state goes into a higher gear. Party sources said Shah will be in the state between April 20-23 and will leave for Telangana on the last day to attend political programmes in Telangana's Chevella Lok Sabha seat.

Shettar will suffer defeat, his constituency a 'safe' BJP seat: Karnataka incharge Arun Singh

"Shettar had been winning from the constituency as it was a BJP seat and not because of any mass base which he never had. BJP cadres are upset with his betrayal of the party and will ensure his defeat. He will be taught a lesson." BJP general secretary in charge of the state, Arun Singh said, adding, "Our target is 150 seats. We will surely achieve it."

Singh also claimed that the BJP gave all the due respect to Shettar but he chose to "betray" the party for his personal interests.

Jagdish Shettar blames B L Santhosh for denying him BJP ticket

Ex-CM Jagdish Shettar, who joined Congress on Monday, blamed BJP national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh for rejecting his plea for a ticket in the poll-bound state.

"When there was a possibility of winning with maximum votes, the question emerged why the ticket was denied. What I saw was, the person whom people respect and call him Santhosh ji, it's B L Santhosh, who is the root cause of all this," Shettar said, adding that he fell victim to the game played against him and that the ticket announced in his favour was taken back later, he charged.

“If they had told me before I won’t have stuck by them but why play a game? Many like me are upset within the party but they are not able to speak. They did try in the past but nothing worked out,” he told News18. "There is a big conspiracy to sideline the Lingayat leaders in the BJp but this will only backfire BJP in the state,” he added.
