Kovalam is an Assembly constituency in the Thiruvananthapuram district, in the Travancore region of Kerala.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Kovalam was won by Adv.M.Vincent of INC.

Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Jameela Prakasam of JDS.

In the 2016 assembly polls, Adv.M.Vincent garnered 60268 votes, securing over 39.14 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 2615 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 1.7 percent.

The constituency polled 153989 votes in the 2016 Kerala assembly polls with a voter turnout of 74.24 percent.

The Kovalam constituency has a literacy level of 92.66 percent.

A total of 11 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
