Modi's swearing-in ceremony on May 30: These world leaders will attend the event

Leaders of all BIMSTEC countries have confirmed their participation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Thursday for a second term. Among those who are going to attend the ceremony are Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, and Prime Minister of Nepal K P Sharma Oli, President of Myanmar U Win Myint and Bhutanese Prime Minister Lotay Tshering. Here’s a look at the names that the list of guests includes:

India invited all BIMSTEC nations (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation), Kyrgyzstan and Mauritius for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Council of Ministers on May 30. Abdul Hamid, President of Bangladesh has confirmed his participation at Modi's swearing-in ceremony.

Maithripala Sirisena, President of Sri Lanka has confirmed his attendance at the swearing in ceremony. BIMSTEC includes Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand.

Sooronbay Jeenbekov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic will attend Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Thursday for a second term. Pakistan, and other South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (Saarc) members such as Maldives and Afghanistan are also not invited.

U Win Myint, President of Myanmar also confirmed his presence at the event on April 30, 2019. Meanwhile, in 2014, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala attended Modi's swearing in ceremony.

Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Mauritius have also confirmed his attendance at the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi.

K.P. Sharma Oli, Prime Minister of Nepal will join the swearing in ceremony on April 30, 2019.

Lotay Tshering, Prime Minister of Bhutan will be present on the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi.

Thailand's Special Envoy Grisada Boonrach will represent the country at the ceremony.
