The counting of votes began on Sunday to elect a new 294-member West Bengal Legislative Assembly. Early trends indicate that Sangram Kumar Dolai of TMC is leading.

Moyna is an Assembly constituency in the Purba Medinipur district, in the southwest Bengal region of West Bengal. The Moyna constituency went to the polls on April 1, 2021. The assembly seat is reserved for the General category.

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Moyna was won by Sangram Kumar Dolai of CPIM. Before that, in the 2011 elections, the seat was held by Bhushan Chandra Dolai of TMC. In the 2016 assembly polls, Sangram Kumar Dolai garnered 100980 votes, securing over 50.25 percent of the vote share, and winning the seat by a margin of 12124 votes.

In percentage terms, the victory margin was 6.03 percent. The constituency polled 201105 votes in the 2016 West Bengal assembly polls with a voter turnout of 87.4 percent. The Moyna constituency has a literacy level of 87.66 percent.A total of 6 candidates stood in the 2016 elections.
