No-confidence motion: Shatrughan Sinha says he will vote for BJP
Jul 20, 2018 6:15 AM

Ending suspense, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha made it clear that he will stand with the BJP, when the no-confidence motion goes for voting.

The veteran leader from Bihar, who has shown signs of moving away from the party, made his decision clear through his post on Twitter.

#NoConfidenceMotion As far as I'm concerned,so far the party has not left me,nor I have left the party, so it is simple - that as a party member, I should & would abide by party’s whip/dictat. For the time being my vote is here, rest for 2019 elections....”Yeh kahani phir kabhi”.

— Shatrughan Sinha (@ShatruganSinha) July 20, 2018

However, the erstwhile matinee idol made it clear that there was no guarantee of him being in the party during the upcoming elections.

The revelation by Sinha, while ensuring that the ruling party will not be left red faced, highlights the growing distance between the MP and saffron party’s top leadership.

Sinha has been distancing himself from the BJP since Narendra Modi and Amit Shah took over the control of the party. The leader has been in recent times seen getting closer to the Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family.

His recent presence in the Iftar party organized by Tejashwi Yadav while giving a slip to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's party had raised eyebrows. However, the tweet makes clear that the veteran leader will stay in BJP at least for the time being.
