Oct 22 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened

lower on Wednesday, extending its previous session's losses, as

persistent weakness in precious metal prices weighed on the

market.

At 9:30 a.m. ET (1330 GMT), Toronto's S&P/TSX composite

index was down 0.2% at 29,819.4 points.
