European Equities Traded in the US as American Depositary Receipts Rise Tuesday Trading

11:09 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- European equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts were tracking higher Tuesday morning, rising 0.51% to 1,564.44 on the S&P Europe Select ADR Index.

From continental Europe, the gainers were led by petroleum refiner Equinor ( EQNR ) and telecommunications company Ericsson (ERIC), which rose 3.1% and 3% respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS ( EDAP ) and oil and gas company TotalEnergies (TTE), which were up 2.9% and 2.3% respectively.

The decliners from continental Europe were led by biopharmaceutical company Genfit ( GNFT ) and semiconductor company Sequans Communications ( SQNS ) , which dropped 6.3% and 3% respectively. They were followed by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) and telecommunications provider Telefonica ( TEF ) , which lost 2.1% and 1.2% respectively.

From the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics ( ADAP ) and pharmaceutical company Silence Therapeutics ( SLN ) , which advanced 4.5% and 4.4% respectively. They were followed by cruise line operator Carnival (CUK) and oil and gas company BP (BP), which increased 3.1% and 2.4% respectively.

The decliners from the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical company Akari Therapeutics ( AKTX ) and biotech firm Trinity Biotech ( TRIB ) , which fell 3.5% and 2.5% respectively. They were followed by tobacco company British American Tobacco ( BTI ) and biopharmaceutical company Biodexa Pharmaceuticals ( BDRX ) , which were down 1.9% and 1.5% respectively.
