Citigroup Ends 'Aspirational Representation Goals,' Revises Hiring Practices
Feb 21, 2025 4:09 AM

06:51 AM EST, 02/21/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Citigroup ( C ) is ending its workplace diversity goals and removing requirements to interview candidates from diverse backgrounds, multiple media outlets reported late Thursday, citing Chief Executive Officer Jane Fraser's memo shared with staff.

The bank will no longer have "aspirational representation goals except as required by local law," Jane Fraser reportedly wrote.

The bank is also changing the name of its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Talent Management team to Talent Management and Engagement.

Fraser reportedly said the bank will continue encouraging "the best practice of having a variety of perspectives included in hiring decisions."

Citigroup ( C ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment from MT Newswires.
