11:05 AM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) said Monday it is planning to invest nearly $2 billion in its Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky to assemble a midsize, four-door electric pickup.

The pickup is targeted to have a starting price of $30,000 and be launched for US and export markets in 2027, the automaker said.

The company said the investment is on top of its previously announced $3 billion investment in BlueOval Battery Park Michigan that will build the prismatic lithium iron phosphate batteries for the electric truck beginning in 2026.
