Tesla Recalls Nearly 13,000 Model 3 and Model Y Vehicles in US Over Power Loss Risk
Oct 22, 2025 4:17 AM

06:51 AM EDT, 10/22/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Tesla (TSLA) is recalling 12,963 vehicles in the US, including certain 2025 Model 3 and 2026 Model Y units, due to a defect that could cause a sudden loss of drive power, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday.

The agency said a failure in the battery pack contactor could interrupt power delivery and increase the risk of a crash.

Tesla said it will replace the affected battery pack contactors free of charge, according to the regulator.
