US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for September, due to expire on Friday, rose 40 cents or 0.6 percent to USD 64.09 a barrel at 0458 GMT, after sliding 2.7 percent on Thursday. The more active October contract rose 39 cents or 0.6 percent to USD 63.89 per barrel. Brent crude futures rose 32 cents or 0.5 percent to USD 66.77 a barrel, after dropping 2.6 percent on Thursday to its lowest close since May.
