04:20 PM EDT, 05/28/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Starbucks ( SBUX ) expects "futher progress" in talks this week with the union representing many of its employees, the coffee company said in an e-mailed statement.
"Starbucks ( SBUX ) and Workers United remain focused on continuing to build a positive, productive relationship for our partners and while there's still more to do, we are committed to delivery on our promise to offer a bridge to a better future for all Starbucks ( SBUX ) partners," the company said.
The parties last met about a month ago.
Starbucks ( SBUX ) chief executive Laxman Narasimhan said the company and the union are "focused on creating a more stable environment" for employees and "creating a more satisfying work environment in our stores while de-risking our business," CNBC reported, citing comments prepared for a conference call with analysts.
The union did not respond to e-mails from MT Newswires requesting comment.
