Stellantis Working Hard to Avoid Factory Closures, CEO Reportedly Says
Sep 17, 2024 11:16 AM

01:38 PM EDT, 09/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Stellantis ( STLA ) Chief Executive Carlos Tavares said the company is working hard to dodge the risk of factory shutdowns, multiple media outlets reported Tuesday.

Tavares said that Stellantis ( STLA ) has done "many unpopular things" in the last few years to avoid a situation similar to that faced by Volkswagen, which announced in early September that it was considering closing factories in Germany.

The key is to offer electric vehicles and traditional gasoline models at the same prices, Tavares told reporters at the inauguration of the Stellantis Pro One hub in Turin, Italy.

Stellantis ( STLA ) and Volkswagen didn't respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
